Breathe to Receive
"Breathe to Receive" is more than a session, it’s a gentle, lasting invitation to come home to yourself.
Breathe to Receive
A Trauma-Informed Breathwork Session for Nervous System Regulation, Emotional Release, and Deep Rest
Breathe to Receive is a 2.5-hour therapeutic breathwork session held in a safe, supportive environment. Led by qualified Spiritus Breathwork and Reiki practitioner Chris and Quantum Energy healer and Reiki practitioner Alana, this small-group session uses gentle, conscious breathing to help you regulate your nervous system, release stored tension, and reconnect with your body.
Whether you're carrying stress, processing grief, navigating life transitions, or simply seeking a space to rest deeply, this session offers structured support for your healing.
What is Spiritus Breathwork?
Spiritus Breathwork is a gentle, trauma-informed breathwork practice that uses conscious connected breathing to support nervous system regulation and emotional processing. Unlike more intense breathwork styles, Spiritus is soft, slow, and restorative.
Key principles of our approach:
You remain in control - You can adjust your breath, pause, or rest at any time
No forcing or pushing - We work with your nervous system, not against it
Trauma-sensitive - We're trained to recognize and support overwhelm
Body-centered - We focus on what you feel, not what you should feel
This approach helps your body safely release what it's been holding without retraumatization.
Who This Session Supports
Breathe to Receive may be helpful if you're experiencing:
Chronic stress or nervous system dysregulation
Feeling disconnected from your body
Carrying unprocessed emotions or grief
Difficulty relaxing or feeling safe
Life transitions that require grounding
A desire to deepen your self-awareness and healing
This session is designed for adults (18+) who are seeking a supported space for emotional and somatic healing.
How We Prioritize Your Safety
Your safety, physical, emotional, and energetic, is our primary commitment. Here's how we create and maintain a safe healing space:
Qualified, Trauma-Informed Facilitation
Chris is certified in Spiritus Breathwork and Reiki
Alana is Certified in Reiki and Quantum energy healing
We're trained in trauma-informed practices and nervous system regulation
We've supported dozens of participants through deep healing work
Co-Facilitation Model
Having both masculine and feminine energy present creates a balanced, grounded container. One facilitator guides while the other provides individualized support, ensuring no one is ever alone in their process.
Clear Consent Practices
You'll be oriented to the space and process before we begin
All touch (bodywork) is opt-in and with explicit consent
You can say no, pause, or adjust at any moment
We check in with you before, during, and after
Small Group Size
We intentionally keep groups small so everyone receives adequate attention and support. You're never just a participant, you're seen, held, and cared for.
Paced Integration
The session includes structured time for grounding, journaling, and optional sharing so you don't leave feeling raw or unfinished. We help you transition gently back into yourself.
Session Structure & What to Expect
Opening Circle & Cacao Ceremony (30 minutes approx)
We begin gathered together to create connection and safety. You'll learn what to expect, set your personal intention, and receive ceremonial cacao, a gentle, heart-opening plant medicine (non-psychoactive and optional) that supports presence and grounding.
Spiritus Breathwork Journey (90 minutes approx)
You'll be guided into a conscious connected breathing pattern that helps regulate your nervous system and create space for release. The session includes:
Breath guidance - Clear, gentle instruction throughout
Somatic cues - Invitations to notice and reconnect with your body
Music and pacing - Intuitive soundscapes that support your process
Individual support - Chris and Alana offer presence, reassurance, and Reiki-infused support as needed
Optional bodywork - Gentle touch (with consent) to help release tension or provide grounding
What you might experience:
Emotional release (tears, laughter, or other expressions)
Physical sensations (tingling, warmth, softness, or heaviness)
Mental clarity or insight
Deep relaxation or rest
Nothing dramatic, and that's completely okay
There is no "right" way to breathe. Your body knows what it needs.
Integration & Closing (30 minutes approx)
After the breathwork, you'll have time to ground, reflect, and integrate. We provide space for journaling and optional sharing within the group. You'll leave with tools for continuing your care at home.
Safety Considerations & Contraindications

I'm new to breathwork. Is this okay for beginners?
Absolutely. This session is designed to be accessible whether it's your first time or you're returning to deepen your practice. We guide you gently at every step.
What is bodywork, and is it required?
Bodywork is gentle, supportive touch offered with your explicit consent during the breathwork session. It might include grounding a shoulder, supporting your back, or helping open the chest to support breath flow and release.
It is completely optional. You'll be asked beforehand and can decline or change your mind at any point.
What is Reiki, and how is it used?
Reiki is a gentle form of energy healing that supports emotional release and nervous system regulation. It's subtle and intuitive—you might feel warmth, tingling, or simply a softening. We integrate Reiki throughout the session to support your healing process.
What is cacao, and why do you use it?
We open with ceremonial cacao, a heart-opening plant medicine (non-psychoactive) that helps with presence, intention-setting, and connection. It's warm, nourishing, and grounding.
Drinking it is optional, but many find it enhances their sense of openness.
Why don't you share photos of the session?
Our breathwork sessions are sacred and confidential. We don't take photos during the breathwork because we're here to create safety and presence, not content. What happens in the space stays in the space.
What do people usually feel afterward?
Common experiences include:
Feeling lighter, clearer, and more grounded
Emotional release or a sense of peace
Reconnection with yourself and your truth
Physical tiredness (your nervous system has done deep work)
Tenderness or rawness
All of these are normal. We recommend drinking plenty of water, resting, and giving yourself gentle care in the days following.
Is there an age limit?
Yes, this session is for adults aged 18 and older. The emotional and somatic depth of the work requires a level of maturity and self-awareness. If you have questions about a younger person attending, please reach out.
